Do read the last past post before going reading this...
I was at....
There were some other volunteers only to take care of those who collapsed after donating blood, actually you don't collapse then and there as you get up from the bed. Let me tell you what happened to me. While I was lying on the bed with a needle inside my vein from which blood was going into the sterilized bag, I was thinking of the moment when I was in a dilemma whether to go for donating blood or not, and now I was doing the same.
The next moment I thought how much time will this take ?, then pulled out my phone and listened the song 'Hawa Hawa Aayi' a remix version from Shaitaan, after a while I felt that my throat was drying up, that was the moment when a weird thought came to my mind 'Yaar, Zinda Toh Bachunga Naa', I even called the Doc present there and told him that my body was sweating uncontrollably, he told me to relax and turned the fan towards me, the air which the fan blew was the coolest breeze in the world which I have ever experienced. 'Kya Thandi Hawa Thi.'
Next moment a medical student (I suppose) came and asked me 'Kashu Thai Che Tamne, Chakkar Toh Nathi Aavta Ne ?' I always told them I was alright. When she pulled out the syringe, I took a deep breath and asked her can I rest over there for five min. She again asked 'Weakness feel thai che..?' . This time I was really feeling a bit weak and needed a little rest so closed my eyes and went into the third world of thoughts. About five minutes later I got up and sat in a chair nearby, at first I was alright but later I saw something unusual happened to me, there were some beds and volunteers in front of me. First, the volunteers standing a bit far from me faded of, then the bed and the doctors and all those who were around me went blur. There were some voices in the background asking me if I was alright or not. Don't exactly remember the last part but the next moment some guys helped me reach upto the bed so let me have some rest.
I think I fainted partially or might be fully because I remember that I walked upto the bed myself along with the support of few guys. i salute the members of social service club. I thank them for whatever they were doing for the society. I would also join the club at the earliest.
Then a senior Doctor came upto me and diagnosed me and told me to close my eyes and have rest. Then came a guy who offered me a bottle of GluconD the most common energetic drink. I was treated like a king, though hadn't did anything like that.
I rested on the bed for about ten minutes and next, went to the coffee stall, there also were the volunteers keeping a good care of the donors. Had a cup of Nescafe Coffee and Parle G. then remained seated on the chairs over there, again slowly-slowly everything in front of my eyes was fading off, keeping myself into senses I leaned forward to let my head be neat to the heart so that blood pressure may rise and reach upto the head. Don't know what laws of physics governed this and how that came to my mind.
Whatever it was, it worked I was completely back to my senses in minutes. While I was trying out all this the volunteer over there saw me fainting and called for help. Other volunteers ran to me, to pick me up and place me on the empty bed.
The situation was a bit funny, some volunteers ran upto me and were about to pick me up, one even pulled up my leg, then they saw I was alright and we all had smiles on our faces.
There I rested for about half an hour and was back to normal,
I would have never donated blood if that friend of mine hadn't asked me and I out of curiousness hadn't given a try.
SO THIS IS HOW MY DAY ENDED, I WOULD NEVER FORGET THIS DAY AND WON'T FORGET SOME OF THE IMPORTANT KEY PEOPLE WHO MADE MY DAY MEMORABLE.
AT THE END I WOULD REQUEST YOU ALL TO AT LEAST DONATE BLOOD ONCE A YEAR. BE IT YOUR BIRTHDAY, ANNIVERSARY OR ANY SPECIAL OCCASION. DOING A GOOD DEED WOULD MAKE IT SOMEWHAT MORE SPECIAL.
COURAGE IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF FEAR BUT RATHER THE JUDGEMENT THAT SOMETHING ELSE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FEAR !!!
